Stratovation Group Launches Landmark Research On Farmers’ Agricultural Drone Use and Perceptions

In Partnership with the Agricultural Retailers Association, The Fertilizer Institute and D.C. Legislative and Regulatory Services, Inc., Research will Study Important Farmer Attitudes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AgPR) March 13, 2025 - With the market for agricultural drones and related farm-level services rapidly expanding, Stratovation Group is launching a farmer-centric research study to cut through the hype and deliver the farmer perspective on drone adoption, trusted advisors, challenges, and opportunities.

In collaboration with powerhouse partners—the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), and D.C. Legislative and Regulatory Services, Inc. (DCLRS), —Stratovation Group, a leading research, marketing and communications firm in the agriculture industry, is launching this groundbreaking study to capture farmers' real-world perceptions of agricultural drone technology.

"There's no shortage of talk about drones in agriculture, but what's missing is real, data-driven insight straight from the farm gate," said Cam Camfield, CEO of Stratovation Group. "This study will provide that clarity—offering actionable intelligence for equipment manufacturers, ag retailers, input suppliers and policymakers alike. We will dig deep into how and why farmers are, or aren't, integrating drones and drone services into their operations for crop scouting, seeding, input application, and other critical tasks."

Partner Collaboration Driving Effort
The involvement of major partners in the agricultural sector underscores the industry's commitment to understanding the future of ag technology. This broad collaboration will drive the research, ensuring reach and impact to shape how the industry supports farmers in drone adoption.

According to Camfield, the study's industry partners are keenly aware of the positive impact offered by agricultural technology. Their roles in advocating for smart, sustainable agricultural innovations, such as drone use, makes each of them valuable collaborators on this research.
"ARA's leadership in advocating for agricultural retailers means our study will also help capture insights and nuances from the professionals who work directly with farmers, helping to bring cutting-edge solutions to the field," he said. "ARA's involvement is critical in understanding how drones and the retail sector fit into modern precision agriculture strategies.

"TFI's expertise in agricultural inputs and sustainability will help put a spotlight on how drone technology intersects with responsible nutrient management and environmental stewardship. With its deep understanding of fertilizer application and regulatory landscapes, TFI's participation will ensure that this study delivers practical, forward-looking insights, for farmers and industry stakeholders alike, regarding the use of drones for field-level applications,"

DCLRS also plays an essential role in securing informed insights to share with lawmakers and regulators. DCLRS clients supply much of the crop protection and public health pesticides that protect the food, natural fibers and biofuel supply Americans depend upon. Those perspectives will help shape the survey approach.

"Even the best data won't drive policy change on its own—lawmakers need a direct bridge between research findings and legislative action. Farmers need be able to access the tools of modern ag technology. Without strong advocacy, regulatory bottlenecks could slow down adoption, delaying benefits to farmers. This research will provide balanced, informed perspectives directly from farmers."

Research Sponsors Will Glean Deep Insights
Stratovation Group is kicking off its sponsor invitation phase with companies that wish to leverage this exclusive data to refine marketing strategies, develop new products, and gain an edge in the evolving agricultural drone marketplace.

Stratovation Group will share a select topline of survey results with ag media during major agricultural events in late 2025 and early 2026, with the comprehensive survey results and exclusive data reserved for sponsors.
