Ryobi Systems Begins Operation of Agricultural Data Platform and Carbon Credit Demonstration Project in Bangladesh to Promote AWD Farming

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has selected this project for the Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Program, and the project plans to expand its implementation areas gradually. Additionally, this farming method contributes to countermeasures against climate change by reducing methane gas emissions.

Ryobi Systems Co., Ltd. is launching a demonstration project in the People's Republic of Bangladesh to promote the AWD (Alternate Wetting and Drying) farming method (a rice cultivation technique that conserves water through intermittent irrigation to increase yields), thereby contributing to improved agricultural productivity through efficient farming. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has selected this project for the Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Program, and the project plans to expand its implementation areas gradually. Additionally, this farming method contributes to countermeasures against climate change by reducing methane gas emissions.

To promote the adoption of AWD farming practices, Ryobi Systems will collaborate with local Microfinance Institution to provide support through agricultural extension officers. Furthermore, we will deploy a farming data platform to measure and analyze implementation data to advance agricultural digital transformation (DX) and green transformation (GX). We will also verify data for potential carbon credit conversion by conducting methane gas measurements in collaboration with local research institutions.
