From December 11 to 13, FBN is expecting more than 4,000 growers, ranchers, technologists and ag professionals from 42 states and 5 Canadian provinces to join together in Omaha, Neb. Representing over 33 million acres, $14 billion in annual trade, and all major commodity crops, FBN & Farmer2Farmer will help producers shape the global agricultural economy for the year ahead.
"From trade issues to industry consolidation to unpredictable weather -- 2019 has been a historically tough year for farmers," says Amol Deshpande, CEO and co-founder of FBN. "FBN is looking forward to bringing the most innovative farmers together and arming them with the tools they need to maximize profits in the 2020 season."
This year's conference theme is "Beat the Odds" and will feature these issues:
Moneyball Farming - How Farmers Can Win by Changing Strategy
How Farmers Will Drive The Future of the Seed Industry
Hemp - Creating the Next Great Crop
Large-scale Organic Farming & Sustainability
Future of Ag and Food Investing
Trade Wars and Protecting Your Bottom Line
FBN will also be making several major announcements about new products, services, and opportunities that will enhance their members' financial control and protect their bottom line.
"Every year these vital conversations at Farmer2Farmer help inform the direction of our company and our offerings," says Deshpande. "We listen closely to our farmer members at the conference and then bring those insights back to the drawing board. We're eager to reveal our latest solutions to the most pressing problems on the farm."
Farmer2Farmer will also feature keynotes from Marcus Luttrell, decorated Navy SEAL veteran and the best-selling author of Lone Survivor, and Billy Beane, EVP of Baseball Operations for the Oakland Athletics and the subject of the popular book and film, Moneyball. Beane's "Moneyball" approach is particularly relevant for farmers today, as it focuses on finding advantages through tough-minded, outcome-based thinking in order to get the most from limited resources.
FBN will also put on sessions and hands-on demos of how FBN Crop Marketing, FBN Health, F2F Genetics, FBN Community, FBN Finance can work to drive profits across their operations. In addition, there will be several special offers and promotions made available only to those in attendance at the Farmer2Farmer event.
Creating an Independent Farm Economy to Put Farmers FirstSM
The idea for the FBN network originated from farmers who wanted to create an independent, farmer-driven information and commerce network.
Through FBN, farmers are one step closer to having a totally independent full-farm profit system: from FBN Direct's input ecommerce platform; to FBN Analytics comprehensive agronomic-network data analytics & decision support; to FBN Crop Marketing's premium contracts, advisory & risk management; to FBN Insurance & Health, healthcare plans for farmers.
FBN now serves more than 33 million acres of farmland across the U.S. and Canada, an area nearly the size of the state of Pennsylvania.
