Data-driven Platform to Maximize Orchard Efficiency

MapMyApple collects data from the user's orchard, runs it through the algorithms and the advanced disease models, determines if there is a need to spray, chooses the right product, and schedules a spraying activity for the selected block.

Robotic Applications in Agriculture

The spike in robotic technology primarily has to do with the fact that there is a growing population that needs food. Without technology and automated applications in agriculture, it would be highly challenging for farmers to meet people's demands.

Manufacturing Logistics Impacting the Agriculture Industry

Buyers and markets are changing along with demand. To meet the needs of a global marketplace, agricultural producers have to understand how logistics processes can reshape production, shipping, storage, and more.

Flushing Hydroponic Systems: Nutrient Imbalance, Waste, and An Alternative Solution

We recommend that hydroponic growers flush their systems every month to every few months, depending on the type of system they're running. But why? We're also fans of recirculating system because it conserves water and nutrients.

Redefining Communications for Today's Mobile Workforces

The entire face of team communications has changed, escalating the need for alternate ways to communicate with the growing mobile workforce. Internal and external communications are merging as businesses strive to reconnect with disconnected teams off-site.

NASA Harvest And CropX Partner To Support Sustainable Ag Initiatives

Combining the power of CropX soil data monitoring and NASA's network of Earth-observing satellites, NASA Harvest aims to deliver critical insights to governments and farmers around the globe in support of informed and science-driven decision making.

Can Artificial Intelligence Help Growers Win the Weed Wars?

There are few herbicides available for specialty crops, making hand weeding the "go to" process. Could intelligent weeding machines be the answer? Based on technology advances made to date, experts say the answer is likely yes.

Solar FlexRack Supplies Trackers to Namaste Solar for the Largest Agrivoltaic Research Project in the U.S.

This project will be studying how best to grow wildflowers, pasture and prairie grasses, pollinator habitats, as well as crops, such as carrots, onions, tomatoes and squash that will all be planted this season underneath and around the solar array.

Is Indoor Farming Really Profitable?

The next 10-15 years will see huge disruption in farming, but also exciting changes for the agricultural industry as it invests in more sustainable and regenerative practices.

Eden Green Technology Breaks Ground on New Texas Greenhouse, Continues With $12 Million Strategic Expansion

Eden Green Technology's greenhouse modules are more sustainable and scalable than other hydroponic vertical farms, low-tech greenhouse formats, and traditional soil-based farming methods.

Automated Monitoring and Control for Water Purification and Storage System

With funding from the Tennessee Valley Authority, Watt Bar Utility District (WBUD) needed to streamline automation of its 32 tank and pump stations. System integrator Quality Controls LLC decided to use PLC, HMI, and SCADA products from CIMON to automate these facilities.

Ag Technology Promoting Livestock Health

As the world advances in technology, almost every job has had to acclimate, including the livestock industry. Once an off-the-grid profession, agriculture is now fully immersed in what the Internet of Things (IoT) has to offer.

How to overcome GNSS limitations with RTK correction services

How to overcome GNSS limitations with RTK correction services

Although GNSS offers ubiquitous coverage worldwide, its accuracy can be hindered in some situations - signals can be attenuated by heavy vegetation, for example, or obstructed by tall buildings in dense urban canyons. This results in signals being received indirectly or via the multipath effect, leading to inaccuracy, or even blocked entirely. Unimpeded GNSS positioning in all real world scenarios is therefore unrealistic - creating a need for supporting technologies, such as real time kinematic (RTK) positioning and dead reckoning, to enable centimeter-accuracy for newer mass-market IoT devices.
